How long will my child have to wear braces?

Every patient is different, but the average time that a patient needs to wear braces is 24 months.

Will my child still be able to play sports or an instrument?

Wearing braces should not interfere with your child’s ability to play sports or a musical instrument. However, it is best to let your orthodontist know what activities that participate in so their treatment can be adjusted to fir your child’s needs.

Will my child still need to see the dentist every six months?

When wearing braces it is more important than ever to make sure you are going to the dentist. The braces make it very easy for plaque to build up and the dentist will take care to clean your teeth and make sure the braces are clean too.

What is the best age for my child to get braces?

It is recommended that a child go to the orthodontist around age seven so that the treatment will be as short as possible. However, 1 in 5 people with braces are over the age of 21, and people of all ages can benefit from braces.
